Trips

We believe that being able to offer a wide variety of trips ,visits and experiences for all students is an important part of their whole education during their time with us. Whether for curriculum enhancement such as theatre visits and sporting events or trips further afield, these add the extra dimension.  

A number of the trips take place during Activities Week in July each year.. There is also the opportunity for students to participate in all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme in different locations across the country.

Year 7

Year 7 have the opportunity to Germany during Activities Week.

Year 8

Year 8 have the opportunity to visit Normandy in the summer term.  Highlights of the trip include visiting the beaches of the D-Day landings and seeing the beautifully maintained Ranville cemetery, where many who died at the start of the D-Day landing campaign are remembered.  There are also opportunities to buy lunch at a French market and even milk a goat!

Year 9

 Year 9 have the opportunity of watersports during Activities Week.

Year 10

 Year 10 History students have the opportunity to tour the Battlefields of northern France and Belgium in a thought-provoking trip.

Sixth Form

 There are numerous opportunities for Sixth Form students to travel.  These include a French exchange, and the USA.  Some of the trips run every two years.  Sixth Form students who require financial assistance can apply for an Ashcombe bursary, which can cover a percentage of the trip cost.
