PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents and senior staff who work together to support the school community for the benefit of all the children.  We do this by raising funds for projects and supporting many of the school’s events.  Funds raised by the PTA have gone towards the sports centre, school minibuses, football posts, picnic benches and other smaller and important projects to enhance the school site.

We raise funds through pre-loved school uniform sales, the 300 Club, the autumn term parents’ quiz evening and other activities – and are always open to new ideas!

The PTA supports many school events.  This includes sponsoring prizes for the Awards Evening, and providing refreshments at the Careers Fair, International Business Week, concerts and new parents' evenings.

We are delighted to see new people show interest in becoming part of the PTA and would like to extend a particular welcome to those new to the school.  Please do click the contact button below to get in touch.

We meet once or twice a term at the school for one hour, starting at 7pm.

PTA Events

The PTA held its first and very successful Christmas Fair at the school on Saturday 25th November 2023.  Come and support the 2024 Christmas Fair - even more stalls and ideas than before, BBQ and festive treats .

Preloved School Uniform

The Ashcombe School's Preloved Uniform store is run by PTA volunteers. The aim is to support sustainable reuse of good quality school uniform items, whist raising funds to reinvest into our school. We welcome donations of good quality second-hand uniform which we can offer to families for reasonable suggested donations.

We aim to run a sale each term (dates notified by Arbor and in school weekly newsletter).

These take place in the PTA building (B1) which is located at the Croft Avenue entrance to the school, adjacent to the Bradley Performing Arts Building entrance.

Preloved Uniform Sales will be held on:

Saturday 5th October            10am-12pm

Saturday 9th November       10am-12pm

Saturday 7th December       10am-12pm

To arrange an opportunity to look/ browse/try and buy uniform please contact us on the following email uniform@ashcombe.surrey.sch.uk.

Please note that stock and size availability cannot be guaranteed, and we would always advise you to come and see/try the clothing items for yourself. We can offer a fitting room on-site for you to check the fit. As we operate on the availability of a very small team of volunteers, exchanges and refunds are not possible. We accept both card and cash payments.

For further information about pre-loved uniform matters, please contact us at   Thank you.

The 300 Club: what is it and how it works

The 300 Club is run by the PTA and, along with the sale of uniform, is the main means of raising funds for the school.  We currently have 210 members.

Members are allocated a specific number at a cost of £12.00 per annum per number (payable by standing order or cash).  Members can have as many numbers as they wish.

There are two Draws a year held at suitable Ashcombe School events.  At each Draw, there are three prizes of £300, £200 and £100.

To join, please complete the application form and return it to:

The 300 Club Treasurer,
c/o The Ashcombe School,
Ashcombe Road,
Dorking,

or hand it in via your child at the School Office.

You are welcome to adjust the amounts on the Standing Order if you would like more numbers allocated to you.

If you would like to join the club (or if you want to double check your membership!), feel free to email me at the email address detailed below.   Apologies, but payments cannot be made online at the present time.

Many thanks to all those who have recently signed up and to all our other members.  Your support is much appreciated.
