Student Achievements

We are delighted to celebrate a fantastic range of student achievements from across our school community this year. Our students continue to impress us with their talent, dedication, and enthusiasm, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished.

We begin by congratulating Alfie, who has earned a place in the London Children’s Ballet after a highly competitive audition process  a remarkable achievement that reflects his commitment and passion for dance. Equally impressive is Austen’s progression to the final selection stages of the Harlequins U16 Academy, a testament to his hard work and determination on the rugby field.

Our congratulations also go to Poppy, who continues to excel in national Skateboard GB Park competitions. She will be competing in several UK championships this year before heading to the USA for a specialist training camp. Meanwhile, George has reached an exciting milestone in his football journey by signing with AFC Wimbledon.

Academic and creative achievements have also shone brightly. Twenty of our Year 12 students enjoyed an inspiring day at MathsFest at the Royal Institution, further fuelling their enthusiasm for mathematical study. In the performing arts, Howie has secured a place on the London Schools Symphony Orchestra Easter course, which will culminate in a performance at the Barbican. We are also incredibly proud of Eliza, who represented our school superbly during her appearance on BBC Question Time, speaking with confidence, intelligence, and integrity.

We would also like to recognise the outstanding debating achievements of Freddie and Jiho, who represented Ashcombe at the prestigious Oxford Schools Debating Competition earlier this month. Competing against a strong international field, they tackled challenging motions with composure and progressed to the State School Final. Their teamwork and resilience were evident throughout the demanding day.

In sport, our Ashcombe swimmers delivered exceptional results at the Surrey Schools Gala at the Guildford Spectrum. Facing strong local competition, they rose to the challenge with determination and Ashcombe spirit. Impressively, more than half the team achieved personal best times, an outstanding accomplishment at a county‑level event.

In computing, our students in Years 7–10 achieved top‑tier results in the Bebras Computing Competition, placing within the top 10% nationally and progressing to the next round. Our KS3, KS4, and KS5 maths problem‑solving teams also represented the school brilliantly at the regional competition at St Bede’s, demonstrating excellent teamwork and resilience.

Finally, a huge congratulations to our U12 Netball Teams with Year 7 crowned County Champions and Year 8 securing a fantastic second place. Their teamwork, spirit, and determination were evident throughout the competition.

Congratulations to all our students. Your achievements make us incredibly proud, and we look forward to celebrating even more success across our school community throughout the year. If you know of a student achievement we should highlight, please get in touch we love sharing good news!
