Mindworks

Mental Health Crisis Line (Mindworks)

Safe Havens

Safe Havens provide out of hours help and support to people and their carers who are experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress.

There are five Safe Havens open in town centre locations across Surrey and North East Hampshire, and they are available to all residents in these two areas. The closest ones to The Ashcombe are in Redhill and Epsom. The Safe Havens are open evenings, weekends and bank holidays and are designed to provide adults with a safe alternative to A&E when in crisis. In addition, each of the Safe Havens also offer an online service during opening times so that people can receive expert advice and support without having to leave home.

Each of the Safe Havens are staffed by a mental health practitioner from Surrey and Borders Partnership and two trained Safe Haven workers. Peer support from people with lived experience of mental health issues is also increasingly available.

Epsom and Redhill Safe Haven offers support 6pm-11pm, 365 days a year, for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Papyrus Suicide Prevention

Papyrus has a range of resources aimed at suicide prevention, including their telephone service, Hopeline247, which provides support for children and young people under the age of 35 who are experiencing thoughts of suicide or for anyone concerned that a young person could be thinking about suicide. The number is 0800 068 41 41 and more information can be found here: https://www.papyrus-uk.org/papyrus-HOPELINE247/

A 24-hour service offering confidential emotional support to anyone who is in a crisis.

The Family Information Service (FIS)

Offers free and impartial information and signposting service on all aspects of family life for parents of children and young people aged 0 – 25. The role of their service is to help families get the most out of the information and services available in the community and online.
