Welcome to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award information page. We currently offer the opportunity for students to achieve Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards during their time at The Ashcombe School.
Bronze Award
The Ashcombe School is currently offering the Bronze Award to Year 10 for 2023/2024.
- Bronze Groups of 7 (mixed boys and girls) to be submitted by February half-term or they will be automatically allocated
- Please remember that Bronze Assessed Expeditions are moving to Activities Week (15th to 19th July), so participants will only do 4 days Work Experience
- Groups should choose from a Sunday 14th/Monday 15th July OR Friday 19th/Saturday 20th July expedition

Route training sessions will run at 8am Wednesdays and 3.40pm Thursdays and Fridays throughout May 2024.

The Ashcombe School is offering the Silver Award to Year 11 for 2023/2024.
Dates for the diary
Final Payment: Monday 19th February 2024
Route planning: Wednesdays 8:00am, Thursdays and Fridays 3:40pm throughout January 2024 in R28
Assessed Expedition: Thursday 21st March to Saturday 23rd March 2024
Gold Award
The Ashcombe School is offering the Gold Award to Year 12 for 2023/2024.
Dates for the diary
- Practice expedition: Wednesday 1st May to Sunday 5th May 2024 (Snowdonia, Wales)
- Assessed expedition: Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July 2024 (The Lake District)
