Development and Learning
We know how important your child and their development is and aim to deliver the highest quality of care and education to help them to achieve their best. Our approach is guided by:
Learning through play
Being active and playing supports young children's learning and development through talking and doing., as they learn to think about and understand the world around them. We use the EYFS statutory guidance to plan and provide opportunities which will help children to make progress in all areas of learning. The programme provides a mixture of activities planned and organised by the children, and activities planned and led by staff.
Assessment
We assess how young children are learning by drawing on our knowledge of the child and we use information gained from ongoing assessment to identify the individual level of expected development. We believe that parents know their children best and will ask you to contribute to assessment by sharing information about child at home and how you are supporting their development. We make regular assessments of children's achievements, and also provide a written summary of development in three prime areas when a child is aged between 24 and 36 months, completed by the child's key person.
Safeguarding
Chatterbox takes its duty to safeguard children against suspected or actual significant harm seriously and has the appropriate policies and staff training in place. Our policies are available on request.
Special Needs and disabilities
In ensuring that our provision meets the needs of each individual child, we will take account of any special needs a child may have and working to the requirements of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 0-25yrs 2015.
