Year 7 Residential Visit to Germany

Most recent visit - 2017

In July, coachloads of Year 7 pupils set off to visit the Rhineland during activities week. After a very early start and extremely long journey we arrived at our hotel.

Highlights of the week included visiting the pretty Rudesheim with a guided visit of its musical instrument museum, then taking a cable car across the River at Deutsches Eck. We travelled to Berg Eltz, after a very long hike up a steep hill we reached the summit and had a fascinating tour around the castle. We also had a boat trip down the Rhine to the Lorelei rock, where pupils climbed the 450 steps to the top.

Staff were impressed at how keen the pupils were to speak the language in cafes and shops.

For many pupils, this was their first taste of Germany and we hope that it has given them a tate for a return visit.
