Feedback from parents

Year 6

We welcome feedback as we aim to support all students. Below are extracts from letters received from parents.

Positive feedback from parents

"The education and wider pastoral care that you and your team provide is truly first class. Our daughters have blossomed under your school’s guidance, both academically and more broadly, developing into rounded, engaged and sensitive young people who we are very proud of. The community that you foster at The Ashcombe is inspiring and has given our girls the very best start in life they could have. Thank you to everyone at school for this very considerable achievement; we are very proud to be the parents of Ashcombe students and truly appreciate everything that you have and continue to do."

Primary school to secondary school support

"The small schools induction morning was an excellent opportunity to meet teachers, other parents and children. You have been accessible throughout and I really appreciate your emails and for listening to me at length about my children. It has been reassuring, informative and a great comfort to have a contact like you in the

Support for new students

"I would just like to say Thank You so much for your time settling Charlotte in and organising her time table. She expressed how much The Ashcombe suits her and how every teacher and pupil she has met so far have been so friendly. It has meant so much as a family that her first week at The Ashcombe has been an enjoyable experience. I would also like to Thank the lovely girls Charlotte was buddied up with, she has said how friendly they are and loves being their new friend. Thank you again I'm sure she will thrive at Ashcombe."

"We just wanted to thank you and all the staff at the Ashcombe for supporting Lydia over the last two years. She felt comfortable from the start, and thrived in the supportive and inclusive culture of the school. You helped to give Lydia a sound base for developing herself and a growing interest in social issues which she carries forward to Uni. Lydia remains in touch with her friends from school and we are sure there will be some informal reunions next summer".

Parent support evening for GCSE students

"We have not experienced GCSE's before and with all the educational changes going on it is difficult to know how to help your child. I heard many positive comments after the event and the the overwhelming consensus was that it was really helpful, interactive, very informative and gave you tools that you can actually go away and put into practice to support your child. I also found parts of it quite terrifying, yet the way you positioned it with some humour thrown in, and the offer of support always being there made you feel that you can get through it!"

"Many thanks for tonight - I thought your talk was very valuable and informative, a real credit to the school. I was one of the parents who got the 8/10 mark and won the "front of line" queue ticket.  I had to leave fairly quickly so didn't pick this up.  However when I got home the children told me off in no uncertain terms as this apparently is a prize more valuable than gold."

Careers support in the 6th Form

"My son is off to university to study computer programming. I am so grateful for the support the school gave him. You never gave up on him and it paid off."
